How to clear black spots

There's absolutely no need for you to use heavy makeup to hide dark spots on your face. You only have to take a good look at your kitchen and you will see some remedies for these spots.

Black spots may arise due to excess secretion of melanin on the skin and can be eliminated through various ways.

Papaya

This fruit contains the enzyme papain which helps to exfoliate the skin, making way for new skin cells to emerge. Papain is most concentrated when the papaya is still unripe. This treatment is done by slicing a piece of papaya and holding onto the dark spots. Apply the juice to the dark spots and leave for 20-30 minutes before washing off.

Aloe vera

Apply the aloe vera gel directly on the dark spots and massage the area gently for a few minutes. Do this once or twice daily as this also helps to treat sunburns.

Red onion

Peel a red onion and cut it into chunks and blend very well. Use a cotton pad to apply the juice on the dark spots, leave for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Onions have acidic properties that act as dark spots lightener.

Buttermilk

This is a widely used skin bleacher. Put a little quantity in a plate and dab cotton wool into it before applying to the affected parts. Leave it for 10-15 minutes before washing off very well with lukewarm water. Do this treatment always.

Lemon juice

The Vitamin C in lemon can lighten dark spots. Put fresh lemon juice on a cotton swab and rub on the affected part. Allow it to dry before washing it off with water. If your skin is sensitive dilute the lemon with water or honey or both before application.

Potato

Grate the potato and mix it with honey, then use as your homemade facemask.
You can also place a slice of potato directly on the spot, leave on for some minutes before washing off.

Coconut oil

Regular application of coconut oil on dark spots reduce them and also prevent them from coming back. Coconut oil has some powerful antioxidants which helps in making removal of dark spots effective.

Oats

An oatmeal mask can be applied on the face and neck to remove dead skin and black spots. Grind half cup of oats and add four tbsps.of lemon juice to make a paste. Wash it off with warm water when it dries on the skin.
