There are some bad habits which most of us do all the time. Some of them include:
Prolonged use of makeups
Some of we ladies use the same
lipstick, eyeshadow...etc for years without changing. Its time to throw away your makeup and get new ones when you observe that ; your lipstick doesn't glide as smoothly as it used to, your mascara wands have become dry and your eyeshadows and blush crumble even when you apply the least pressure on them. Mascara should be changed every three months but eyeshadows, blush, lip and eye liner pencils can stay up to two years.
Also, if you make use of brushes to apply your makeup , wash them with shampoo bi-monthly and air dry them. Do not blow or towel dry them, rather, allow them to dry naturally.
Smoking
Smoking does not only damage one's health, it also makes one to develop deeper wrinkles, saggier skin and blotchier skin tone. In other words, it makes one to age faster. According to the research published in Plastic and Reconstruction Surgery, every decade of smoking results in a perceived extra 2.5 years of age.
None daily usage of sunscreen moisturiser
The best way of keeping the body from getting wrinkled and saggy is through the daily use of sunscreen; SPF 30 at the minimum. Use broad-spectrum formulae which protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays.
Too much drinking
"Is she trying to say that i shouldn't drink?" Not at all, i'm not trying to steal your fun away from you, you can still have a glass of something. We must all know that alcohol increases the inflammatory agents in the blood stream which speeds up skin sagging overtime.
Lots and lots of junk food
A study in the journal of the American Academy of Dermatology discovered that people who replaced processed carbs such as chips, cookies, cakes etc with foods rich in protein and whole grains broke out less. Reason is because processed carbohydrates are high-glycemic foods which causes blood sugar to rise thereby triggering a surge of insulin.
Cut off the junk and replace with snacks such as yoghurt, nuts and avocado.
Over-exfoliation
Over cleansing can aggravate oil production and worsen the breakouts you are trying to prevent. The skin reproduces more oil to fight the dryness caused by excessive exfoliation and washing. The best way to exfoliate the skin is to exfoliate 2-3 times every week.
Skipping washing the face at night
Even if you are so exhausted to the point that you can't take a shower, make sure you wash your face before going to bed!
Letting the skin to marinate in makeup can lead to clogged pores and pimples.
Popping of pimples
Yeah, its so tempting to pop pimples especially when they are ripe. But the truth is that popping of pimples pushes bacteria deeper into the pores causing inflammation and infection.
Also, this can make that particular spot to become dark.
Turning away from the gym
Exercise increases blood flow to the skin, causing a healthy flush in the process. Exercise also reduces tension which results in youthful looks. Reduce stress in your life by working out and your skin will also benefit from it.
Not drinking enough water
Water! water!! water!!!
Some people do not drink up to four glasses of water each day. atahis is really bad, studies have it that 8-10 glasses of water should be taken everyday.
This helps to flush the system and also results in beautiful glowing skin and youthful looks!
